We had so much fun working on the '3 Little Pigs' origami and painting project today! Origami helps develop hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills and mental concentration. Children were very creative, drawing different background according to the story.
Children in Years 1 to 3 painted these cute paintings - the Christmas trees and Zentangle patterns. They used a range of media such as acrylic paint, crayons and vivids to outline.
Girls in Years 4 to 6 designed these stunning evening dresses.
We learned to paint with various brush strokes. Children were working on various project today. Amazing effort and concentration!
Picture 1: Some senior girls were working on the evening dress design project. They learned to use different brush strokes to paint the dress. Work-in-progress... Picture 2: Children were adding details to their landscape canvas painting. They love creating new colours by mixing them. Some of the others started designing the zentangle patterns. We discussed about using lines, spaces and shapes. What a productive afternoon! Children worked on three painting projects. Through these projects we learned about art concepts such as warm/cool colours and mixing colours. We also experimented painting with flat brushes and small point brushes precisely. We started our canvas painting 'Autumn leaves'. Children painted some gorgeous landscape background with gradient colours today!
Another productive session today - look at these beautiful lotus flowers!
Well done children for completing this project with lots of effort. There were a number of components to be painted and assembled. |
